Privacy policy

This policy explains what information Cell Site Map (cellsitemap.com) collects, how it is used, who it is shared with, and the choices and rights you have. Cell Site Map is operated by Asaru Labs Ltd. ("we", "us"), which is the data controller for the personal data described here.

Information we collect

Cell Site Map does not have user accounts, and you can use the whole site without telling us who you are. The information involved in using it is:

• Usage and analytics data. We use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used: pages viewed, how long visits last, approximate location (country/city level, derived from your IP address), device and browser type, and how you arrived. Google Analytics uses cookies for this.
• Advertising data. We use, or may use, Google AdSense to show advertising. Google and its partners may use cookies and similar technologies to show ads and measure their performance — see "Advertising" below.
• Server logs. Our hosting provider automatically records technical information with every request — IP address, browser user agent, the page requested and the time — for security and to keep the site running.
• Your location, only if you ask for it. The "Use my location" button and the map's location button use your browser's location feature, which always asks for your permission first. The coordinates are used on your device to find the nearest place or to show your position on the map. They are not sent to or stored by us.
• Searches you type. Address searches are sent to our map provider, MapTiler, to suggest matching addresses. Map imagery is also loaded from MapTiler, which receives your IP address as part of those requests.
• Preferences stored on your device. Your light/dark theme choice is saved in your browser's local storage. It never leaves your device.

Cookies

Cookies are small files a website stores in your browser. Cell Site Map uses:

• Analytics cookies (Google Analytics, e.g. _ga, _ga_*) to distinguish visits and measure how the site is used.
• Advertising cookies set by Google and its advertising partners when ads are shown.

We do not set cookies of our own for tracking. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the site keeps working without them.

Advertising

• Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website and other websites.
• Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.
• You can opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. You can also opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalised advertising at aboutads.info or, in Europe, youronlinechoices.eu.

Where the law requires it, including for visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, we ask for your consent before personalised advertising cookies are used, and you can change that choice at any time.

How we use information

• To run, secure and improve the site, and to fix problems.
• To understand which pages and features are useful (analytics).
• To show advertising, which keeps the site free to use.

We do not sell your personal data.

Legal bases (GDPR)

For visitors in the EEA and UK, we rely on:

• Consent for analytics and personalised advertising cookies, where consent is required.
• Legitimate interests for server logs and security, and for showing non-personalised advertising.

Who we share information with

• Google (Google Analytics and Google AdSense), which may process data outside your country, including in the United States, under its own safeguards.
• MapTiler, which provides the map imagery and address search.
• Hostinger, our hosting provider, which stores server logs.

We may also disclose information if the law requires us to.

How long we keep it

Analytics data is kept for up to 14 months in Google Analytics. Server logs are kept by our hosting provider for a limited period for security purposes. Data stored on your device stays there until you clear it.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct or delete personal data about you, to object to or restrict how it is used, to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time. To exercise these rights, email us at support@asarulabs.com. If you are in the EEA, you also have the right to complain to your data protection authority — in France, the CNIL.

Children

The site is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them.

Cell tower data

The tower locations on this site describe network infrastructure, not people. They come from national regulators and OpenCelliD; see Data sources for each source and its licence.

Changes to this policy

We will update this page when our practices change, and the date at the top will change with it.
