About Cell Site Map
Cell Site Map is a free map of known cell tower locations, starting with France. It shows where towers are around an address, which carriers run them, which network generations they support (2G, 3G, 4G and 5G), and which way their antenna sectors point.
Where the data comes from
- Verified data. In France, ANFR — the national frequency agency — publishes the location of licensed radio sites under the Licence Ouverte 2.0. These are marked "verified" on the map.
- Estimated data. OpenCelliD is a community project that estimates tower positions from phone measurements. These positions are approximate and shown with a confidence radius.
Each country's source and licence is listed on our Data sources page.
What you can do here
- Search an address, or browse cell towers by region, city and postcode.
- Compare the carriers in an area, and filter the map by carrier or generation.
- Use our radio tools: eNB ID calculator, EARFCN converter, MCC/MNC lookup and more.
What this site isn't
Cell Site Map shows where network infrastructure is, not how good coverage is. A nearby tower doesn't guarantee a strong signal, and our data is neither complete nor real-time. For coverage, check with your carrier.
Why we built it
Knowing where towers are is useful in everyday ways: choosing a place to live, positioning a 4G/5G router or outdoor antenna, working out why reception is poor, or simply understanding what's around you. The public data exists, but it's hard to read. We make it readable.
